Or at least that's what people are being told by Crutchfield.
Several Orbitcast readers have received confirmation that their pre-ordered Sirius Stilettos are on their way. One keen reader points out that the Stiletto Boombox though is still back-ordered.
Sirius' own website is expecting orders that are placed now to arrive the week of October 9th.
I myself am holding off on getting one until I get a better sense of what the live Sirius signal reception will be like. Plus at $350, it's still a bit too rich for my blood.

Ryan. isn't Sirius giving you one to review?
And here I would have thought Sirius would have been nice enuff to provide you with a freebie....
Nope, Sirius has never provided me with any review units.
That blows! Who's review will i trust now? Gizmondo? I say they are biased since they are on the Covino and Whoever show now. PC Mag and places like that will have reviews, so thats good.
RYAN!!!
My Stiletto is shipping out of Crutchfield right now, and some people on Sirius Backstage already bought it in stores in Circuit City.
I'm going to do a Stiletto review on SBS and my LiveJournal but if you need me to I can send you a full review of my stiletto first come Monday or Tuesday.
Oh, and home kits & car kits are still back-ordered.
I place my order on Sept 4th but received and e-mail today that the item was still out of stock so I guess it depends when the orders were placed since they started taking orders on Sept 1st
i just got mine from my local Circuit City!!!! they have 1 left. the salesman said every store got at least 2 in.
holy sh*t this thing is awesome!!!!!
That's too bad they aren't reaching out to you with a review unit.
At $350 WITHOUT a car kit, I'm also holding back... perhaps prices will drop or they'll bundle the car dock.
I did see the XM Inno down to about $200 with the Friends deal. Hmmmmm. How's reception (and FM beaming) if you stick it on your dash with a car antenna?
"I get a better sense of what the live Sirius signal reception will be like."
Look Ma, no hands and I can update my channels from inside my house on a satellite signal.

who cares xm has had live radios for years :)
Nice try sirius gonna take a long time to catch up with xm
YOUR reception is not HIS reception. I can get everything on my inno from within my house also but within a building(concrete) I can't get a full/steady signal even though it's closer than my house to the terrestrial antenna for XM. Depending on where you live, you may be picking up a close terrestrial antenna.
Another reason why Ryan might of said that is because it has been reported that Sirius only has 139 repeaters compared to 800 for XM.
That's also a larger antenna then I thought that it would come with.
Why do you need to update the channels also? Shouldn't it do it without interferring with your usage?
"That's also a larger antenna then I thought that it would come with."
That is the antenna for the S50. You need to calm down a little ahigee. The update on the channels was done I suppose that was the intial power up on that specific Stiletto.
Did you ever consider that SIRIUS does not need as many repeaters as XM due to the 50% higher angle of elevation of the SIRIUS birds as compared to XM?
BTW, I receive a satellite signal in my bedroom. Are saying I am not telling the truth? I am over 30 miles from Houston on the Brazos River and the nearest repeater is the Medical Center south of downtown. Check it out.
ahigee said "That's also a larger antenna then I thought that it would come with."
LOL, it is not that the antenna is bigger, it is the Stiletto that is smaller. The Stiletto's antenna is built in silly.
Well then again the Stiletto is wider the the S50......
I know it's built-in, i'm not dumb but I was just saying that the antenna was larger then I am used to seeing. The home antenna that is supplied with the inno is just as wide as the inno and shorter also. Thats why I said that thing about the antenna.
Why do you need to update the channels though?
Nevermind my question because I didnt see that you had two posts back to back.
Does Ryan live with you though? Because if he doesn't then I don't expect him to get the same reception you do. I never said you lied....holy S.
Having more repeaters is better no matter how you look at it. You tend to read that alot about people complaining in certain areas because they have to have their antenna outside the house to get a decent signal with Sirius. Ryan may live in one of these areas.
You live around Houston, huh? Have you been able to catch my friend lil Jimmy Norton at the Houston improv lately?
Ahigee, who cares how large the home antenna is?!!? The real concern is the size of the built in antenna. I dont care how big an antenna is at home but when putting something in my pocket, I want it to be small. The stiletto antenna is much smaller than the huge knob hanging off the inno.
Frank the frowner's going to be there ( I was once told by a horse killing me by blowing out my o ring)

Sorry to be OT but I dont get it. Why wouldn't Sirius support Orbitcast? That does not make any sense.
Then it would become just another message board! That would be pointless!!!
Orbitcast is not Siriuscast or XMCast. If you wanted to keep something fair and balanced between the 3 companies(Worldspace included) then you would deny any attempts that try to sway the bar.
Besides hearing about the competition making you a better consumer. Some people just choose to listen to what one person says(Howie), and take it for granted when in fact its far from the truth.
>> Some people just choose to listen to what one person says(Howie)
Then if they listened to "Howie" and bought it, they would be just as stupid as you would.
Well i'm not buying it, so how am I stupid? I'm saving $350 by making that decision.
Last I checked, Orbitcast was #2 when I Googled the Stiletto.
It is rediculous that Sirius doesnt recognize that as being an influence on sales.
