Video: VoiceBox Demonstration for XM Satellite Radio

The new XM and VoiceBox partnership sounded neat, but seemed like an extra doodad that's simply press worthy but with little substance. I never realized what they meant by "conversational recognition" and how cool it would beuntil I watched this video. It's a demonstration in a Scion xB equipped with the VoiceBox technology, and shows how the driver seamlessly goes from talking about the system to instructing the system what to do. Amazing.

In most cases I've always been disappointed with Speach Recognition technology - it's always been annoying more than anything else as you have to sit there and repeat the command several times over and over (just look for the guy yelling "CALL MOM!" on his bluetooth headset on the sidewalk and you'll know what I mean). But as you'll see here, that's not the case with VoiceBox technology.

Thanks cb!

What useless technology. You have to be a complete idiot to need this, let alone pay for it. Waste of time.

I think this is friggin awesome id like to have it!

The only bad thing about that video was when it announced XMs share price at 30.85. The irony was not lost..
