Imus, 66, was among the most recognizable voices on radio, and had an estimated salary of approximately $10 million a year. According to the New York Times, he recently signed a five-year contract extension.

So should he reach some sort of an arrangement with CBS Radio, should Imus make the move to XM or Sirius? Cast your vote below.

Yes, once it blows over, XM Should sign him

That's probably not a good idea. I don't think he's going to CREATE subscribers. He may get current shit heal satrad subbers to listen for a few days to support their whiteness, but that's about it I'd think.

SatRad is in the subscriber biz. Not a very good idea to annoy them.

No he will not bring in any new subs.

imus should be hired. his audience is mostly the 50+ crowd which is a small part of the current sat radio subs . with xm having 40's,50's,60's channels , imus could be the icing on the cake.

He has stated that he owns shares of Sirius.
But we know he is a big fan of O&A.

Who knows.

No. Let Imus trot off into the sunset on his horse of broken dreams. It was my understanding the point of Sat radio was to get subs, so whos goings to pay to here a man that noone listens to for free? If he does end up on 1 of the 2 I pray its XM. They signed Oprah and got a ton of free press and no subs. Now they can Sign Imus and get a ton of free bad press and no subs. That way they can say they tried it both ways. Plus as an added bonus they get to have Al Sharpton and every other black voice stand outside their rat infested building everyday painting them as the Sat radio company for raceist.

If there was ever a good reason to subscribe to the satellite company that hired Imus, that is about the best reason why.

Don can come and join the Sports radio in NZ (hell he might even get his own TV show). Over here you can get away with a small pat on the wrist for making racist remarks; ask Tony Veitch (a presenter on radio and TV) who once said about Serena Williams "Do you know where the apes come from? She is a reminder." His employers surely did not feel he had offended anyone...

IMUS RAISED 1.3 MILLION DOLLARS IN 4 HOURS ON HIS LAST DAY.BETWEEN 60 TO 80 PER CENT OF THOSE POLLED ARE POSITIVE FOR HIM. HE WAS SOMEWHAT KNOWN TO NOW A HOUSEHOLD NAME. I KNOW AT LEAST ONE PERSON SATELLITE RADIO WOULD GET (ME).. I THINK MILLIONS OF OTHERS WOULD ALSO. I HAD THOUGHT HE SHOULD HAVE TAKEN HOWARD STERNS LEAD BEFORE THIS HAPPENED.IMUS IS A GOOD MAN WHO HAS DONE SOOO MUCH FOR SO MANY. AL AND JESSE ONLY SHOW UP TO MAKE RACEIST COMMENTS OR TO GET THIER FACE ON TV.PLEASE PUT IMUS ON SATELLITE

I'd say let him hit the satrad route....I say that with the caveat that I own multiple shares in Both companies, and while there will be some folks who will dump their subs for having Imus, many more will subscribe out of "solidarity" and "spite".

SatRad has become by default the "HBO" of radio, no restrictions and no real hassle with sponsors, cuz it's mostly subscription based...

Money was the REAL factor in Imus' demise... the sponsors know what a few days of bad news can do to their product...

As for free speech, that applies only to gov't intervention... Remember the D***e C***ks ? They were given the heave-ho over speaking their minds.

All of society's misfits and such will eventually go this route, leaving terrestrial radio for those who can't (or won't) subcribe....

This country is as fragmented as it's going to get. we may as well make some $$$'s out of it.
