XM Adds 640,000 Subscribers - best second quarter in history

On Friday, XM Satellite Radio announced that they’ve added 640,000 new net subscribers in the second quarter.

This brings their total number up to 4.4 Million subscribers - doubling their subscriber base in one year - a rapid growth that no analysts expected at all.

Rumor has it that Sirius Satellite Radio may uncharacteristically be releasing their subscriber numbers this week. I expect Sirius to have an incredible quarter as well driven by their rebate promotion. We shall see.
