XM Satellite Radio and American Honda Company have just announced that they've extended their relationship through 2016.
Honda introduced their first factory-installed vehicle back in 2003, and is expecting to install XM in 650,000 vehicles for the 2007 model year. XM is available as a factory-installed feature on 2007 Honda models including the Civic, Civic Hybrid, CR-V, Ridgeline, Accord, Accord Hybrid, Pilot, Odyssey and Element.
XM is also a standard factory-installed feature on every 2007 Acura model, and XM NavTraffic is standard on all 2007 Acura vehicles equipped with the AcuraLink satellite communication system.
Honda and XM also recently announced a user car program to provide a complimentary 3-month subscription in XM-enabled Certified Pre-Owned Honda (and Acura) vehicles.

That's such a mistake.
I won't be buying a Honda for this very reason. I want a Honda with Nav and the XM is so embedded in the system it's almost forced on you.
Why not at least offer a choice on your service?
I guess it's a VW for me.
I just picked up the brochure for the ridgeline and noticed that you have to buy a fully loaded truck in order to get the aux. jack in the radio. Kind of seems silly for me.
Ew, you must be joking. You would honestly buy a car based on which satrad service is on it?
Whatever dude, stop whining. I have a Civic and I have SIRIUS in there. Lame.
Another great deal for XM. Showing continued strength in the OEM sector, where the real battle for subs is being played out.
Good luck with that VW
If somebody really is a hardcore subscriber to one or the other, they will get that put in. I bet you aren't crying about Sirius having exclusives with Ford and DaimlerChrysler. But I certainly will not be crying a river that I can't get my XM installed on that by Ford. Big deal, I'll have an aftermarket installation done. Stop being a damn crybaby.
Nice - just picked up a maxed out '07 Civic EX with GPS and XM built in. My only complaint is that you don't get any of the features of a portable unit - it's just basically a service and a channel changer.
It is nice, though, just to get in the car, turn it on and have XM fire right up... :)
James - Offer a choice? Well why don't you find which car brand has an option for Sirius or XM and get back to me. I'd love to have a Chrysler 300c SRT-8 and the fact that it comes with Sirius is the last thing that would stop me from buying it.
I for one agree with James.
My wife and I were going to buy a house last year but it had CABLE already wired to the house. We're diehard DIRECTV fans so we passed on the house of our dreams to get a house that already had a dish on the roof.
We're much happier now.
bingo is obviously being facetious.
First off yes I am crybaby because I like choices in my big dollar purchases. Wha Fing wha.
So does everyone else that buys a new car. If you didn't you'd all be buying the same car with the same lame options and be bored as hell.
As for a vehicle that offers choice between Sirius or XM … Lets see VW, Audi, MINI to list a few.
And yes Bingo I did the same thing with or house and now I live in a trailer like you because I like my DirectTV too. :)
- I guess it's a VW for me.
Enjoy the sub-Kia build quality.......
buying a car based on the radio is the dumbest thing i've ever read on this site. congrats.
"As for a vehicle that offers choice between Sirius or XM … Lets see VW, Audi, MINI to list a few."
There is no choice between the brands you listed they are all with Sirus.
Honda is a quality product and they will stick with a quality service like XM for another 10 years. They know what XM is going to offer in the future and they want to be part of that growth and business.
just don't choose the option for a particular radio and get an aftermarket one. if it comes installed, pending on the free trial, if one, get an aftermarket radio anyway. you must own a shit load of shares to be that loyal to a particular sat. radio company. and i agree with steve, good luck with da v-dub. nazi engineering at its worst.
I have a top of the line Ridgeline with a Sirius unit on the dash. Thanks Honda, but no thanks to XM.
Yes.... Hello Toyota Motors ... yes... is Mr. Ito there ? .... He is ? ... Please hold for Mr. Mel-san on line one.
GREAT move for XM if they want to push Toyota into Sirius's loving arms.

What are you talking about? XM is the official satellite radio provider for Toyota, Lexus & scion for the next decade. XM is a genuine toyota part and available when ordering thru factory or at port. Look at the the Lexus LS 460 w/ Nav ...standard with XM Radio and XM Nav Traffic...XM is more than radio it also offers advanced data applications such as Nav Traffic and weather which you will see soon. Lexus which is # 1 in the Luxury brand market didnt go with the doggie company...it went with XM hands down.
You can check old press releases on this on Toyota's site, orbitcast and XM's site as well for further proof.
Too many misINFOrmed comments on here.

Hello Mr. Ito... this is Mel. I'm very sorry to hear of your decision to go with the evil ones.
Did you know we were CFBE in Q-4 and will have backseat video sometime in 2007 ? ....Yes, I think Howard is going to stay after 2010, but I'm not sure.
..... Oh, okay, ...I'll let you get back to your sushi. Call me if XM let's you down okay ?
Okay... bye-bye.
.... Oh shit Joe, we're in trouble ......
