XM Led going to bed, last day is March 7th

XM Led Zeppelin Channel

XM Satellite Radio's Led Zeppelin channel, XM LED (ch 59), will be going on hiatus after March 7th.

Check out their channel page for some crafty-writing about LED's temporary demise, but the key takeaway here is that XM LED will most likely return to "ramble on" later this year.

Thanks Karl!

I can live without dedicated channels.

And sirius keeps E Street Radio. Go figure.

that blows chunks

:(

Its a great channel to check in on.

Ahhh, who cares, the blues channel is still around. You know the people Zeplin ripped off (musically that is, not sure where Plant got the idea for estrogen injections).

Thank God it's over. I couldn't stand the constant humping of this channel on MLB Home Plate. My only fear is they will bring it back some day.

tkb: I heard all about that, and I heard all the evidence, and my opinion hasn't been the same about Led Zepplin since.

dedicated channels suck.

XM thriller has been a letdown so far...

My wife and I had an idea for a "semi-dedicated channel" - rather than 24/7 forever (or a month like XMThriller), do it in week or two-week bursts. Won't get boring and people can tune in when its an artist they are interested in.

I don't understand the draw of a "dedicated artist" channel anyway. Seems like a waste to me.

Well, Baseball season is starting, so they had to make some bandwidth room.

dedicated channels are a good idea.. there just ain't 'nough of 'em.. ok, actually they need to have two or three hundred of them that way if there were a song by some group you go to some groups channel and listen to some group.. but if you wanted to hear something completely different then you go listen to regular fm for the static induced vomit that is the crap that is there for the mass panic attack heart burn, wrist band, coffee heart burn, visually challenged, midget coping, bible thumping, psycho grappling mountain climber, horror story writer, late night comedy show watching, blind yet not so blind that I can see... where was I going with this.. are you still reading this... stop reading this...

i don't get these comments. if you don't like a station, just don't turn it on. For those of us that LIKE led zeppelin, this station was a great idea. Any time you want some Zep, you just tune in.

When i discovered it, i was stoked i wouldn't have to use any of my inno's limited hard drive space downloading LZ songs. they have enough good songs to fill one whole unit easily. i didn't bother recording any thinking this station would be available for whenever i needed a fill up of LED'ed. now it's gone.

stupid move, xm. bring it back, and bring us a dedicated station for other artists with 100s of great songs, like say, the Beatles.

That's funny--I couldn't STAND all the shilling for "MLB Home Plate" (whatever the fuck THAT even is) on the Led Zeppelin Channel.

You ball-sport-fucks DOMINATE terrestrial radio as it is-why should you have even ONE channel on paid, subscription-only satellite radio?

You sound like the typical gym-class-retard. If you like listening to ballsports, you must LOVE watching cars rust!
