XM NavTraffic is continuing to grow in vehicle penetration. Today at the 2008 Dallas Auto Show, General Motors revealed that it is adding the satellite-driven data service to many of its vehicles.GM will add XM NavTraffic across its lineup to provide real-time traffic data to 22 navigation-equipped vehicles in the 2009 model year.
Among the vehicles to offer XM NavTraffic will be some of GM's most popular models, including the Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Sierra, Buick Enclave, Saturn Vue and Hummer H2.

Nav-Traffic is a nice concept that works only as well as the data collection. I have the Pioneer D1 navigation system with XM Nav-Traffic and, except for one case where it actually worked quite well, the timeliness and accuracy of the information is really nothing beter than I've had with the information provided on channel 211 for my trips to NY/CT/NJ.
I get to expense my service fees so it's not a huge deal, but I am not sure I'd pay for it out of pocket. It's a real "nice to have" not "gotta have."
Hopefully the company or companies will work on improvoing this.
