XM now standard on 2008 Buick, Hummer and Saab

General Motors has expanded its penetration of XM Satellite Radio as a standard factory-installed feature, across its 2008 model year vehicles.
Now all Buicks, Hummers and Saabs will have XM as a standard feature for the 2008 model year.
In addition, XM is also now widely standard on the all-new 2008 Chevrolet Malibu, Silverado, Tahoe, Cobalt, Corvette and Impala; Saturn Vue, Outlook, Aura and Sky; GMC Acadia, Yukon, and Sierra; and Pontiac G5 and Solstice models among others.
To date, GM has produced over 6 million vehicles with XM, and XM is available today on more than 50 model year 2008 GM vehicles.
Every new General Motors vehicle with factory-installed XM comes with a free 3-month trial subscription.

Odd, I thought they stopped making Hummer's. Oh wait they stopped making REAL Hummers. :)

Oops. I meant to say take orders for Hummers. The H1 sold itself and GM never made the truck only (poorly) marketed it.
BTW, you can still order a vehicle without XM if you do a fleet order. Although the best part they will probably still install it and not make you pay for it. Whooooo I have XM 204 for 3 months.

The way i see it is is that a XM radio is a Sirius radio - the firmware that makes it a Sirius radio.

" In the 2008 model year, General Motors will build more than 2.5 million vehicles with XM"
Not bad. Add to that Toyota and Honda and nobody buying XM at retail doesnt look THAT bad.

Scott, It could also lead to a higher turnover rate.
After my 3 months is up I probably wont renew.

Hyundai and GM 3 million 45% take rate= 1,350,000 net subscribers not including any other OEM. Impressive however, we do not know the install rates prior to this so the bump up in total net still can not be calculated. Still ... even one more Sub is good.

Sparse extras include a funny alternate opening which sets the tone perfectly. It should have been kept. Welcome to Sky High is a basic making of with loads of behind- the- scenes footage. It runs for a little over 15 minutes. Breaking Down the Walls: The Stunts of Sky High is self- explanatory, but the crew discusses their appreciation for doing all they could in camera without going the route of CG. Disney’ s standard movie showcase and trailers finish the disc.
