XM picks up the Big 12 Conference
XM will now be carrying Big 12 Conference sports, starting this fall. The addition of the Big 12, now makes XM the official satellite radio network for all six BCS conferences in college sports.
XM will air select Big 12 football games each week, as well as the Big 12 football championship, starting in the fall. XM will also air select Big 12 men's and women's basketball games and full coverage of the Big 12 men's and women's basketball tournaments.
The new, multi-year agreement with ESPN Regional Television allows XM to appeal to the displaced sports fan who may not be able to Big 12 games locally.
Thanks Roland & Carlo!

Thank goodness, I'm a dual-sub. Although on Sirius, I'm pretty sure we've been getting every Big XII football game, and often, both broadcasts

I'm curious about what will happen with the teams that have deals with Sirius. My Jayhawks are among those that do and I'd love to hear them on my XM. They're on a very powerful AM station but I'd much rather support satellite radio. And this will also allow a much clearer signal when I'm visiting in-laws in Nebraska.

It'll be interesting to see what channels they use for these games...Will another conference get knocked down to two channels to create one for the Big 12, or will they add it in those channels up above the Traffic and Weather stations...Or will they do another line-up shuffle like they did when the SEC signed on?

Wow. XM is clearly the home of college sports now.

Thanks, Travis...Very cool. Hopefully, having it so far removed from all the other college sports doesn't make it TOO hard for fans trying to find the games. Other than Nebraska, I don't care too much about the other teams.

when will XM wake up and start signing "exclusive audio provider" deals to block compitition from terestrial and internet and cell phone and Wifi and blue tooth and WiMaxx.... where the future compition will be. Go get the exclusive content now before anyone gets too big.

The deal doesn't seem to affect Sirius' rights with the schools. XM's deal sounds like a Big 12 Game-of-the-week deal.
How many play-by-play channels are going to be active on Saturday afternoons in the fall? What will happen to the sound quality for the overall service?
