It was likely a joyous moment over at XM as the "8 million" sign finally went up outside their Washington D.C. headquarters on Eckington Place (lovingly referred to as "The Eck").

XM 8 Million

XM had hoped to hit this milestone last year... but hey, better late than never.

Poor XM getting beat up by the doggy company. Maybe they should start accounting for cars like Sirius does.

Anyway. Congrats on the 8 million. HUGE FAN!

Happy for XM...What a rough ride it's been but I still love them. Here's to a better 07 XM.

8 million should have hit in the 3Q of 2006 and 9 million by the end of 2006. XM is doing great!

Of course XM still has a 3 million subsciber lead from Sirius. Sirius just has 1.5 million units installed in unsold cars. BRAINS! BRAINS!

XM does not have a 3 million subscriber lead!!!! 8 million to 6.1 + the first quarter of 2007. XM also had a head start! Sirius is buying XM! Sirius will pass XM later this year or early next year....count on it.

It's ab0.0ut time.

Hopefully they do well so a merger does not take place. I love XM's music too much. Sirius sucks when it comes to music in my opinion.

I totally agree with the following statement, "Hopefully they do well so a merger does not take place. I love XM's music too much. Sirius sucks when it comes to music in my opinion." Exactly, Anonymous Coward.

Ever since this merger came to be I have prayed against it.

One, because I believe that the marketplace should dictate which company is going to survive and because of this merger both compaines have already suffered, and maybe afterwards their customers will follow the same fate. I mean, customer service is already bad on both service how could it get any worse?

And, for two, having had both services I really believe that XM is the better company, from sports, to news and music. Personally, I think the hidden gem of all of radio is XM 175, MLB Homeplate. I couldn't think of a better way to cover baseball than they have at XM. They have done a top notch job, and if they merge does go through I am afriad that they will alter what is already a great channel. XM provides a better bang for the buck, that is unless you like Stern, but I don't, never will and there are a lot more of people like me out there than people who like him.

If they merge, and I am forced to pay even a small percentage of Stern's salary I will cancel my sub the day that it happens. Hello Ipod, goodbye, Satradio, it was a good ride while it lasted.
