The new XM Snap! isn't the only new device that Sirius XM Radio Inc. will be releasing this year. The satellite radio provider will be introducing the first ever dual-service dock / boombox which will work with both Sirius and XM radios.

Sirius XM Radio Inc. has just unveiled their new XM Snap device, and (sadly) it has nothing to do with Android devices at all. I had a feeling that my theory was wrong, and it looks like I was.
The XM Skydock App for Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch devices has been updated and is now available in the iTunes store. The big change? Support (finally) for Background Audio, but there's an added twist.
Well well well, what do we have here? It looks like a new device from Sirius XM Radio Inc. has been circulated with our friends at the FCC. It's called the XM Snap (XSN1), and if I was to venture a guess, it has the distinct odor of Android surrounding it.
Today during the Sirius XM Radio Inc. Q2 earnings call (live blog notes here), CEO Mel Karmazin announced that they will be launching "Satellite Radio 2.0" in retail stores for the 2011 holiday season."Our next generation of satellite radios are expected to offer more choices for the consumer and contain functionality that does not exist today."
Radio Shack is now, once again, selling XM satellite radios and XM accessories as you can see from the snippet of The Shack's latest weekly ad pictured above. It's been a very long time (at least a few years) since we've seen XMs available as Radio Shack was persistently an exclusive retail partner to Sirius.

We first saw the PowerConnect FM transmitter during the product showcase at Sirius XM's NYC headquarters. But more and more new satellite radios are coming out with PowerConnect (like the XMP3i), and some people want a full explanation of what exactly the PowerConnect FM transmitter does.
But first... a little history lesson.
The new XMP3i is the only "new" radio being introduced by Sirius XM this year, so we got up close and personal with it.
So what's the difference with the XMP3? Not much except the new PowerConnect FM transmitter.
The new XMP3i isn't really that new more upgraded from the XMP3 than anything else. But the "i" designation will make it a better experience, and an overall better radio, especially for novice users.The XMP3i accomplishes all this because it now supports the latest generation FM transmitter from Sirius XM Radio Inc. - the PowerConnect FM transmitter.
Garmin has taken the wraps off its latest product line (some info was actually leaked out a couple days ago) at CES, and included in its new offering is the Garmin Zumo 665 GPS for motorcycles. Riders don't really get too many options available to them in terms of satellite radio, but with the Garmin zumo 665 Portable GPS Navigator, they're getting everything that XM has to offer. And I mean, everything.
