Oh sure those fancypants portables get us uber-geeks all excited, but some people just want a tried and true plug-and-play satellite radio receiver. Why? Because they're affordable for one, and second they do what 90% of people need them to do: listen in the car and at home.
That's exactly the point of the new XM Sportscaster by Advanced GT. For only $60 (MSRP) you get an affordable yet fun little PnP receiver, but with an added twist - it's targeted towards the sports nut.
With 30 channel presets, including pre-programmed presets for XM sports channels, this sleek looking unit fairs just fine for Joe Sixpack. Does it make our blood boil like the thought of Hierarchical Modulation does? No, and neither does it's 2-line display. But damnit, not everyone is a fanboy!
(oh, and for the record, there is an optional personal-wearable kit with headphones for listening to XM on the go, but we don't know the price of it yet.)
