XM Satellite Radio to Launch 24/7 Sports News and Talk Channel

XM Satellite Radio is launching XM Sports Nation (XMSN) a dedicated 24-hour sports news and talk channel. The lineup for XMSN (ch 143) will include current XM programs like the shows hosted by Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Jimmie Johnson, Cal Ripken, Jr., Coach Mike Krzyzewski, James Carville and Luke Russert.
But to complement this original sports programming, XM Sports Nation will feature popular content from Sporting News Radio, including shows from Tim Brando, Tony Bruno and Troy Aikman, among others.
XM will add several new shows to the lineup, including "XMSN This Morning," a daily show featuring the latest in sports news, highlights, interviews and scores from the world of professional and collegiate sports. The weekday program will be hosted by XM personality T.J. Rives, current host of the original XM program "College Football Coast-to-Coast." XMSN also will feature original XM shows dedicated to collegiate sports, motorsports, fantasy sports and more.
The XM Sports Nation channel is set to debut on XM's programming lineup August 28th.

Ok, this is kind of crappy if you like the way XM 143 currently is. I see that the Dave Smith show and Arnie Spagler are not a part of this line up. Personally, I liked this channel the way it is and really don't need other XM programming which is heard on other channels to be added to XM 143. I used to listen to XM 140 ESPN Radio all the time, but I got tired of their ESPN crap, so Sporting News was a great alternative.
I hope XM doesn't screw this channel up.

So this is basically XM's clone of Sirius Sports Action, only less in-house?

Yes, good thing Sirius exists, otherwise XM would be completely lost for ideas..
