Midnight Trucking Radio NetworkXM Satellite Radio just announced that they are now "the satellite radio home" to the Midnight Trucking Radio Network, starting on October 8th.

Hosted by Eric Harley and Gary McNamara, "Midnight Trucking" featuring news and entertainment for truckers. The program will be heard from 1-6am ET XM’s Open Road (ch 171).

Also on October 8, the weekend program “ATBS Trucking Business & Beyond with Kevin Rutherford” will be expanding to 7-days a week. It'll be heard on the regular weekend timeslot, (Saturday and Sunday, 4-7pm ET) with nightly encores airing from 12am-1am ET, just prior to the "Midnight Trucking Radio Network."

There's no word on whether Sirius will lose the Midnight Trucking Radio Network, which currently airs on Sirius' Road Dog Trucking Radio (ch 147).

Goody, more free radio I get to pay for. Keep it up XM. What you should do is just replay only FM feeds instead of hiring talent. I love paying for all those commercials and programming that most people listen to for free. Love it!

Actually all the daytime hosts on Open Road ARE XM-only hosts.

And when people quit bitching about losing free radio programs when XM/Sirius remove them, and when people who listened for free and bought satellite because their favorite show was dropped in their market, then the satellite providers will stop carrying them.

This is BS. I have listened to this show on Sirius for over 3 years. Now Sirius refuses to renew the contract for the show. I want to show my dissatisfaction with Sirius by dropping my subscription. To what avail ? Do I go buy a XM unit to get this show. What am I then getting? A MAFIA monopoly! A MAFIA monopoly! A MAFIA monopoly! I see where this merger is headed. Next year we should be able to get a standard 30 channels for $19.99/month, a delux 50 channel for $29.99/month, and the ultimate package for $39.99/month. Then there will be YOUR favorite channel or show at a "pay per view" rate of another $3.99. Watch and see. This is a prime example. XM-Sirius merger.......A MAFIA monopoly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like it's a done deal. Sirius has pulled all mention of the MTRN off of their Road Dog website. Finally no more reruns of Dave Ramsey or that NAB pivot boy David Lawrence.
