XM SkyDock iPhone app gets a minor update

XM SkyDock iPhone App
Sirius XM have issued an update to the XM SkyDock app to version 1.13 that is said will improve response and loading speed while using the SkyDock receiver. (If you want to know more about the XM SkyDock, read the review here.)

According to the update description, the v1.13 update to the XM SkyDock app includes:
  • An improved channel selection response while in Category Tuning mode.
  • Improved time to load all channel categories after startup.
Sadly, the update doesn't include additional features, such as the ability to record satellite radio, like the more advanced Pocket Tunes app (iTunes link) does. Hopefully, though I'm not holding my breath, that will be coming in the future.

Good, now hire back the XM people you fired and start updating the radio hardware firmware already.

I can't help but think that IF SIRIUS|XM releases an app that allows recording (either timeshifting, individual songs or scheduled recording), they could and WILL put a price tag on it. i.e., the regular SkyDock app is free, but SkyDock Premium allows said features...for ~$20. Hell, with the 3.0 OS on iPods/iPhones, they could make it a subscription add-on. Say, $2/month to record. That should make the RIAA happy...

Great....now I gave them a suggestion...
