The XM SkyDock won't be available until October 18th, and the iPhone App that makes it work isn't be available until October 11th... but apparently some retailers didn't get the message and started stocking shelves with it.
Let's just hope their sales staff is trained to explain all that to them, before those lucky few consumers try to actually get the device to work.

Thanks Eatsleepdrivesc!

Ryan,
TSS wont have it until the 18th. That doesnt mean it wont be available until the 18th. It just means that bigger box stores like Best Buy will receive it first. Best Buy has always received the new stuff before everyone else.
Either way, it's still a paperweight until the App gets released on Oct 11th. :)
My local Best Buy's (Portland, OR) have them stocked and sold. I havent decided if I am goin to grab this. Does anyone know of you can connect to using AUX line? I dont want FM Modulation...
Also, is there a manuel for this bad boy available?

Yes you can use a line out.
JDM,
There is a line out on the cigarette lighter adapter so you can bypass the fm mod and use the aux input on your car radio. there is also an output for the Sirius branded fm mod (FMDA25).
Let's go even money that this is another failed device with high subsidies for the manufacurer and hi SAC costs. I can see this now all the Sirius/XM reps running around pushing this monstrosity to sales reps who just don't give a crap.
No customer is buying this albatros - just like no one is listeing to SIRIIUS/XM on their i-phones. It's a nice gimmick; just lime the MiFi, Stilletto and every other pieve of hardware.
This company is headed -eventually- for the same fate was WorldSpace.
Full disclosure, I was a former employee of XM. It was a great time - and lots of Kool-Aid was drunk. I and many like me believed in the "magic" that was XM, until the shine wore off and we realized that this could never be a profitable venture.
Hardware does not sell a content company.
XM SkyDock App is available now Oct 8.
So with this setup (Dock + App), I now get full access to all my channels? Or am I still just limited to the ones on the XM/Sirius app?
From what i have heard you'll able to get the same channel lineup that you get from the SAT radio...but that's just a rumor
