2007 Honda CivicHonda will factory-install XM Satellite Radio into more than 650,000 of their 2007 model year vehicles.

In 2004 Honda made over 200,000 vehicles with XM; over 400,000 in 2005; over 550,000 in 2006; and now is projecting production of more than 650,000 factory-installed XM units for 2007.

Remember XM is also now a standard feature on all 2007 model year Acuras.

nice---wish we would hear plans for all the auto companies

Yes and 785,000 will have Sirius installed by their owners ( like me ) . My XM in my new Honda goes without activation.

Poor Poor XM.

This is the one main reason that I won't be buying a new Honda anytime soon.

Why not at least give a choice of what will be installed? This is especially troubling when you want a Nav equipped Honda and the XM stuff is embedded already.

Pretty dumb if you ask me.

most will switch the xm to sirius is the better company And is buying xm

And yet...I never use the XM in my Acura, and have installed a Sirius Starmate instead. :)

gary: I have a feeling that these sort of announcements will be made for other OEMs in the months to come. Many people want to more about Toyota and Hyundai deployments.

The more public each company is about their OEM penetration, the better in my opinion. There's no reason to keep this info secret.

what a crock... look at the above comments.. what biased fools! bottom line is that people will activate whats in the car. including the factory installed nav traffic. but these 900,000 sirius investors are attempting to taint the truth. Sirius is doing quite well at retail and is fine OEM. however the investors clogging message boards and spewing falsehoods are not helping anything. infact they are going to taint the stocks of both companys.

Wish you could have a choice? I guess my brother should be crying about that when he got his Ford truck and it lost 2 mpg with that brick of a Sirius unit in it that he never uses. He was more interested in my POS old Roady XT than the indash free for a year crap that came direct from Ford.

Use a little common sense. If your going to complain about one, then you should admit that your company is doing the exact same thing at Ford/Dodge, etc.

I should mention that the XM antenna in most Honda/Acura cars is easily convertable to a Sirius antenna:

Couldn't have said it any better. 99.5% of people aren't going to pay to swap services no matter what SDARS came with the car.
