XM Satellite Radio has narrowed down the selection for the creative of their $50 million ad account to four finalists. XM has been seeking a replacement for handling their creative duties (previously done by Mullen, who is still handling the media buying and planning for the account) for just under a month.
The four finalists are: The Richards Group in Dallas, Wieden + Kennedy, Interpublic Group's Lowe, and Omnicom Group's DDB. The latter three are all in New York, where it is rumored that XM would prefer the agency to be based out of.
Sources told AdWeek that the agency work sessions are to take place August 24-25, followed by final presentations September 5-8 and a decision shortly thereafter. Time is of the essence, and it sounds like XM is moving quickly.
