11.55AM - I now have Terr Repeater at 1.3 BER, Sat 2 has jumpted to 12, and 100 on Sat 1 -- these are close to my "normal" settings in my office. If the repater is working, then Sat 1 must be fine.
Funny, I'm in NYC (midtown to be specific), and I'm receiving absolutely no terrestrial signal here. I usually get 2-3 bars and I'm at zero bars still.
XM's PR sucks. If you go to XMFan.com, you get better information than from them. You get better information from Orbitcast and XM411.com...
XM needs to seriously get it's act together with this shit. Yes, technical problems happen but to deny and never alert your subscriber base til several hours of being blacked out means you have no concern for US the consumer who pays to keep you in business.
My trust in them is near to almost gone in that regard.

Wow, seconds after the AP Says "XM Outages Continue for Second Day"
Funny but, its 23 hours. Dont ya love the press when they have no clue. Last time I checked there are 24 hours in ONE DAY.

I can hear again!

It would be nice to get a PR from XM letting us know it back. Something to smooth the edges.

I still don't have any signal. I'm based in Winnipeg, Canada.

Not so fast...
The Buffalo NY terrestrial repeater I can pick up in the office is NOT online. I am still DOWN.
My location blocks all sats, and I rely on the terrestrial repeaters for signal.

sigh of relief. Thank you to those at XM who busted their humps to get the "crisis" resolved.

AT 12:45 pm XM satellite broadcast back at full strength, Telford, PA (about 25 miles north of Philadelphia).

A OK in Hotlanta.

Maybe some of the repeaters need a swift kick to get them back online. P'raps they are set to turn off if they lose contact with home after a while.

Depends on what type of day you're refering to. A Sidereal day, for example, has less than 24 hours.

Here's a great post from Yahoo Finance Board ...
snip ....
Interestingly, what the huge amount of outcries suggest to me is that PEOPLE ARE REALLY, REALLY DISAPPOINTED WHEN THEY LOSE THEIR XM PROGRAMMING!
THAT IS ACTUALLY A GOOD THING!!!

Any chance XM will release what actually happened? Are they running from XM-3 again or did they switch to XM-1/XM-2?
