XM's Christmas In JulyXM's gone completely crazy with the unveiling a new "Christmas In July" microchannel on XM Live (ch 120), set to air from July 25th through July 26th.

Featuring classic holiday hits from Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, the Ronettes, Amy Grant, Harry Connick, Jr., and many other yule log favorites, the "Christmas In July" channel will give us a taste of what's to come... 5-months from now.

The Holiday madness is spilling out onto other XM channels as well. Radio Classics (ch 164) is featuring Bing's Christmas, and Miracle on 34th Street, at various times throughout the week. And XM's '70s channel (ch 7) - which is one of XM's most popular channels - will feature Casey Kasem's American Top 40 from December 1973, with a Christmas song countdown.

Check out the Christmas In July microchannel page, and join in on the confusion.

Oh c'mon, negative Nelly. I think this is great!

Jingle Bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg.

XM's christmas programming has been a disaster in the past.

Anyone else recall how they just decided to take channels off the air for weeks at a time to replace them with 24 hour a day christmas songs?

Yeah, really, what's the harm? Some television stations have been doing this type of thing for years. Turner just ran Christmas in Connecticut last week. Channel 120 is underused anyway.

Huh? Even the most dedicated Siriots at SBS lauded XM's Christmas programming last year. It hasn't been a disaster at all.

I think XM should start a Summer music channel with beach music including the Beach Boys, the Monkeys, Jimmy Buffett, and any other band with great beach music and this should air all summer long!!!!! Christmas in July....ridiculous......beach music in July....great for everyone!!

Big Al

Believe it or not, I put several Christmas albums on my Inno to listen to these past few weeks. Guess I'll be recording the special channels as well.

Lifetime Movie Network has also been showing Christmas movies.

I like it!

How about a beach music channel in January?

This is ok.. I think as well they should have a sum sum summertime micro channel in the dead of the winter, when it's so cold your cherries shrink... just my idea.. like you care..

Why are they doing this? Many of us don't want to even begin to think about Christmas now. Christmas=snow in Cleveland and snow in Cleveland=angry, depressed Clevelanders (if any of you live or have lived in Cleveland, you know what I'm talking about). I do love Christmas time though, I just don't like Cleveland winters. XM... wait for Thanksgiving.

Replacing several popular channels for several flavors of Christmas music == disaster

Sorry to be Scrooge, but bah humbug. How many people pay for satellite radio to hear 24 hour a day christmas music? Doesn't matter how great the programming was. Removing entire genres of music for weeks at a time on your pay service is just another way to piss off customers.

xmas music sucks during xmas...what in the world would ever make anything think that it would suck less in the middle of the f'n summer?

yeah...thats just what i want to think about while enjoying the 9 days of summer we have here in michigan: winter.

i'm not a big-government type, but we need a constitutional amendment against this type of shit.

So dont listen.

Jesus, Ive never seen so many people complain about such a stupid topic.

yes but it's not available online

retards
