Earlier this summer New York Yankees catcher Jose Molina and Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Chris Snyder both suffered groin injuries on the same night. Molina was hit in the groin with a fastball while Snyder caught a foul tip and fractured his left testicle (yeesh). This week on the men's health show on Doctor Radio, hosts Dr. Samir Taneja and Dr. Andrew McCullough welcome Yankees Team Physician Dr. Stuart Hershon to discuss some of the latest nasty testicular sports injuries - including the cases of Molina and Snyder.
Groin injuries are common in baseball and so you have to ask the question: is that protective cup doing anything? With balls flying (no pun intended) at 80mph, isn't there a better way to protect the twig and berries? McCullough and Herson will discuss as well as take calls from listeners.
Cross your legs and tune in to Doctor Radio (ch 114) tonight, July 16th at 6pm ET/3pm PT for this groan-inducing episode.
Dr. Andrew McCullough is an assistant professor at NYU Langone Medical Center, the director of NYU's Male Sexual Health and Fertility program, and was a principle investigator into the development of Viagra. Dr. Samir Taneja is the director of Urologic Oncology in the Department of Urology at NYU. Every week they explore a wide variety of general and sexual health issues affecting men of all ages.

Just another day with the Homophobic racists posters on this site.
I'm curious that neither the Yankees, XM or MLB didn't at least partially object to the team doc showing up on Sirius. I know that the merger will eventually bring everybody under one roof, but XM does have a medical channel of their own.
It's beginning to look a lot like hell in Radioland. The RAB this morning (July 16) released the much-anticipated but feared radio revenue pool numbers for June and they are dramatically worse than the expected horror: Local revenues for the 100 surveyed markets are off by 10% compared to June 2007, national revenues are off by a stunning 13%, and combined local and national revenues dropped by 10%.
The RAB, which gets its figures from the respected Los Angeles accounting firm of Miller Kaplan Arase & Co., reports that non-spot revenue grew by 10% during the sixth month. Toss that number into the mix and the grand total for radio revenue in June was off by 9%.
The RAB will report quarterly radio revenue in dollar amounts and offer an analysis of the second quarter's performance on Aug. 21.
Veteran Wall Street media analyst Jim Boyle of CL King & Associates tried to prepare the industry for disappointing news, but even he underestimated the level of incoming pain. In a Tuesday afternoon note to clients, Boyle called a 7% drop in June revenue worse than the Street's projection for a 4% decrease. He added, June is the second biggest revenue month of the year. It appears the combination of recessionary times and ad share erosion has kept the news discouraging. May was down 8%, and that is historically the industrys largest revenue month of the year.
June is important to radio. Or, as Boyle pointed out to clients in a Wednesday, midday Flash! to clients, Bear in mind that the months of May and June are historically the biggest revenue months of the year for the radio industry.... For context, historically, June is about 9.4% of the industry's total year's revenue and May is typically 9.9% of total annual revenue. The analyst forecasts that The Street consensus for the remaining publicly-traded radio groups are likely to be cut further, in our view, as this is now two months in a row that consensus expected 4% declines and instead received down 8% for May and down 9% for June.
He now anticipates that many radio groups' guidance [average of 3% declines] are likely to be missed as the industry might be off 6% or more for [second quarter earnings] given the latest June numbers. We expect [third quarter earnings] guidance, when issued, to be discouraging.
Where's the vote, what 's to think about.
That picture is nuts.......Merger August 1st.
