XM fired back at the NAB’s complaints over the WCS acquisition deal.

“Our satellite radio license allows us to provide content of local interest over our satellites, and consequently, we provide content such as traffic, weather, Amber Alerts and emergency information. We are also permitted to use land-based repeaters to retransmit the entire satellite signal to consumers in urban areas where building may block the satellite signal,” wrote XM CEO Hugh Panero and Chairman Gary Parsons.

“NAB’s real goal is to limit the availability of content not just on XM, but on all providers of mobile media subscription services, including cell phone companies, WiMAX providers, etc.”

Tell em boys!
